What moment in your career shaped the way you practice today?
I choose functional medicine because I strongly believe in health prevention and optimizing the human body. Health is not simply the absence of disease, but rather the ability to adapt, thrive, and fully participate in life, physically, mentally, and emotionally. As a nurse practitioner practicing functional medicine, I focus on disease prevention and root-cause resolution to support long-term health and vitality. True health means having the resilience to navigate challenges, the energy to pursue what you love, and the foundation to maintain well-being as you age. My goal is to help patients not just avoid illness, but build sustainable habits for lifelong wellness and longevity.
Early in my career, I worked on a step-down cardiac unit, where I witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of advanced metabolic and cardiovascular disease. Day after day, I cared for patients whose conditions were largely preventable, yet the system focused more on managing crises than on preventing them in the first place. That experience was a turning point for me. I couldn’t ignore the lack of proactive care, and I knew there had to be a better way.
Combined with my lifelong passion for health, movement, and optimizing performance, driven by my athletic background and commitment to being the best version of myself, I found my calling in functional medicine. It allows me to work upstream, helping patients prevent disease before it begins and supporting their journey toward sustainable vitality and longevity.
What drew you to Clinic 5C’s mission and values?
I was drawn to Clinic 5C because the mission and values align with my values. Personally, and professionally always want to reach the next level.
What sport, workout, or discipline shaped your mindset the most?
The sport that shaped my mindset the most is swimming. I grew up as a competitive swimmer and went on to swim Division I at the University of Idaho for two years. Swimming instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, structure, and resilience from an early age. It taught me the value of showing up day after day, even when it was hard, which laid the foundation for how I approach both health and life.
That discipline didn’t just build physical strength; it built character. Over time, I came to believe that discipline is one of the greatest forms of self-love. It’s how we show up for ourselves, make aligned choices, and create a life that supports long-term well-being. That mindset now carries into how I practice medicine and how I support my patients in creating sustainable change.
What’s one area of your life you’re currently optimizing?
Currently, I'm optimizing my postpartum journey: working on building a strong foundation for this phase of my life (mentally, physically & emotionally). And doing all this while learning how to be the best mom I can be.
What’s a wellness trend you secretly love (or roll your eyes at)?
Secretly love: the movement towards going back to the basics (focusing on nutrition & movement). I also secretly love how big strength training is right now, there used to be a fear around lifting heavy weights but there shouldn’t be and I am here for it
Roll eyes at: Blaming all your problems on your “cortisol levels”
