This is Bell’s palsy: subtle results, but life changing. Bell’s is a condition affecting movement of our muscles of facial expression via the cranial nerve that coordinates their precise movement. It is a frustrating condition with variable courses, outcomes, and it's often extremely distressing. This brilliant woman serves an incredible role in her community, but has struggled with asymmetric movements in her face that led to resting facial asymmetry after Bell’s palsy triggered by pregnancy. She had been living with the issue for years, not knowing that she could do anything about it. She finally went on the hunt and found me; over the past couple of years with a few treatments of muscle neuromodulation and extremely subtle filler to address asymmetric muscular volume atrophy, we have restored normal movement and a sense of comfort and confidence with her face both with movement and at rest.
